Zoë Jordan Event 10.10.18

We held a Coffee + Collection Zoë Jordan event on the 10.10.18. I organised a lot for this event such as: designing the invite; ordering the stock for the event and for orders afterwards as well as booking the courier to collect, deliver the collection and rails.
Every week I update the stock list from the distribution centre and our studio stock. This list is extremely important, as I have to ensure that the website stock is accurate. We process most of our orders through the website however for this event we did it in person. This is similar to doing a stock take in retail, which I have done several times. Before attending the event, I had to ensure the stock list was correct, so that no items were incorrectly ordered.
A massive part of this event was organisation. I would say I am an extremely organised person and I constantly have numerous lists, whether that is at work or at home. For this event and for the past few months of this placement, my organisational skills have had to be spot on! I was organised when I was at uni: I always had my deadlines in the calendar; my bedroom was super tidy (it makes me stressed if it isn't); I always knew where everything was in my room including my keys and aimed to finish my work a week before, so then I could focus on any improvements. I think the past two years at university have increased my organisational skills, as I think I am quite a perfectionist in completing tasks.
For this event, I have had to pre-order stock in of the Zoë Jordan KNITLAB core and AW18 collections, so that customers at the event were able to try on and purchase. I was in charge of using our courier company to collect the rails and collection. Thankfully all went well. Finding this courier company, has been a life saver, previously it was a nightmare when I started in July, parcels were getting lost or stuck in customs or they just weren't being picked up and causing so many delays within the company.
We set up most of the stuff the day before with the rails/hangers being delivered, as the event was at 9am the next day. The event was held at Zoë's friend's house and was an absolutely stunning venue! The day of the event, myself and another colleague were at the studios at 7.30am to collect the remainder of the collection and we then travelled to Notting Hill to reach the location. As soon as we got in, we hung and merchandised the rails. I set up breakfast and drinks, which as an intern you have to do all the smaller jobs that make everything run smoothly.

During the event, I was in charge of altering the stock list and informing the customers what sizes we have available in each product. Zoë was socialising and creating those connections with her friends. The assistant manager and my other colleague were also at the event, interacting and collecting payments.
Items that were not available to be taken home at the event (as they were samples) I ordered from our distribution centre that afternoon, making sure that the correct sizes and colours were ordered. For customer's orders, I have to individually empty them from the plastic packaging and fold them neatly into a ZJ grey duffle bag. We provide care instructions for the knitwear, which are on a business-like card, inside a black envelope, which is then placed inside each duffle bag. Each duffle bag is then placed in a ZJ black tote bag, ensuring that any customers ordering more than one item have them in the same tote bag. Each bag has a delivery note, with the customer's details, order, address and contact number stapled onto the black bag. There may be numerous steps to follow with packaging, but having that additional detail, adds to the brand.
