I got my design internship for Zoë Jordan through contacts knowing Lucy Hayes. She has her own brand Lulu Hayes in London, which is a bespoke luxury womenswear specialising in digital print. All of her garments are 100% silk and the inspiration behind the designs are found from elements in nature and abstract expressionism.

I work alongside Lucy, who manages the production side of Zoë Jordan. I have learnt a lot from production. Time management skills are extremely important as everyone has their job to do and if one person becomes behind with production then each process can be delayed. Before the internship, I had never been to a tailor's shop and my understanding has now been broadened in this area, which will be useful in the future.

Lucy asked me to design an Instagram post for her to use on Black Friday this November. Using several images provided and some guidance of fonts and colours, I created about 10 designs suitable to be used for the post. I hadn't used Photoshop in a while, as I have been doing a lot of the business, production and logistics side for Zoë Jordan, so it was really good to be asked to do some designing for social media.

Here are 4 designs that I created:

Lucy's Instagram page is very colour coordinated, which reflects her brand well.

At the end of November, I was invited to attend a store opening for Montyandward in Mayfield, East Sussex. The new store has British designers, including Lucy. The owner has her own brand of making comfortable and sustainable bras. Montyandward stocks other sustainable fashion products for fitness and home.
